Scotland Yard: Information about Belgian paedophile ring was “unsubstantiated”

The email sent to PJ by the Leicestershire Police, about a paedophile ring based in Belgium that alegedly placed an "order" for the kidnap of Madeleine McCann, was classified by Scotland Yard as “unsubstantiated information”. A spokesman from that police force, quoted yesterday by The Telegraph, said: “Unsubstantiated information was received by CO14 relating to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. This was passed on to Leicestershire Police on 4th March 2008. The information was further discussed with Leicestershire Police verbally and all possible lines of enquiry were conducted. Leicestershire Police passed the information on to the Portuguese authorities.

Bom dia Paulo, again
So... unsubstantiated information makes unsubstantiated news... or worst than that!
Now we're stuck on running to blogs like this one to clear the info posted in the deliberately partial British press, that, i suppose, have access to the same files Paulo has...
